FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions I answer your most frequently asked questions. Before contacting me with any questions or requests, please read below

❓ 1. Can my Yamaha model use these Styles? How do I check for compatibility?

All Styles for sale are available in SFF2 formats (more complete and complex, so called 2nd generation styles), and in many cases also SFF1 (1st generation styles), the two standards used by Yamaha keyboards. Compatibility depends on your keyboard model:

  • Newer keyboards (Genos, Genos2, PSR-SX, Tyros 3/4/5, Clavinova CVP 5 Series) primarily use SFF2.

  • Older keyboards (some PSR-S, Clavinova CVP 4 Series, Tyros1, DGX670) only use SFF1.

➡️ After purchasing, you will receive the files in a zip pack containing various formats, and depending on your keyboard, you will choose the one you need. If you would like to learn more about compatibility, click this link for a complete overview

2. Where do I find the Style files after completing the purchase? And how do I transfer them to my Yamaha keyboard?

After payment, you will immediately receive an email with a direct link to download the Styles in ZIP format. Check that your email provider hasn't marked it as spam or junk. To use them:

  1. Extract the files from the ZIP (on PC or Mac).

  2. Copy the files needed for your keyboard (SFF1, SFF2, SFF2 for GENOS, etc.) to a USB flash drive

  3. Insert the USB drive into your Yamaha keyboard and load the Style from the Yamaha Style menu (not the SONG menu).

I've prepared a step-by-step video tutorial  that explains the import procedure exactly. Same video is linked below, at bottom of this page

3. For Styles without a demo video, how can I navigate the selection of sections (Intro, Main A/B/C, Ending…) while performing?

Starting with the 2026 releases, all Styles without demo videos will include a complete description of their sections in the product description page, including:

  • Number of measures for each Style section

  • Musical characteristics of the Intro, Main, Fill, and Ending

  • Suggested complete performance sequence      This information allows you to understand exactly how the Style is structured before purchasing. I'm also working to gradually integrate the same level of detail into the Styles released in 2024 and 2025 that don't have demo videos.

4. For keyboards dummies: is the Style like a MIDI song or a karaoke instrumental base?

No. A Style isn't a MIDI or karaoke track that plays automatically while you just play the melody on top.

A Style is an interactive accompaniment, like the factory-installed ones on your Yamaha keyboard.
It respects the original song's arrangement, but:

  • It doesn't playback the song

  • It doesn't contain the main melody line

  • It's not a "listen to" file, but a "play to" file.

You'll be playing live, choosing chords in real time, switching between Intro, Main A/B/C/D, Fill-In, and Ending, following the structure of the original song or creating your own interpretation and sequence.

➡️ It's a keyboard player-arranger experience, not a "player" of backing tracks. If you're looking for backing tracks, you won't find them on this site.

5. Are your Styles compatible with Yamaha models not listed in the specifications? And can they be used or converted for Korg, Roland, or other brands?

The compatibility diagram is complete and comprehensive. If a Yamaha model is not listed there, it means that does not support the standard SFF1 or SFF2 formats, which are the only ones used by my production. For example, instruments like the PSR E series use very reduced formats that are neither compatible nor convertible. Regarding other brands:

➡️ Korg, Roland, and Ketron, to name a few, are not compatible with Yamaha Styles

➡️ Styles are created with software that exclusively generates SFF1/SFF2 formats for Yamaha

➡️ It is not possible to convert them to other brands, nor use them directly.

In summary: the Styles in this store are only for Yamaha keyboards compatible with SFF1/SFF2.

6. Are the scores in the shop easy piano scores? And, if a title isn't in your catalog but appears in your YouTube tutorials, can I order it?

The "My Arrangements Sheet Music" section includes only the titles in the catalog (currently just over 20) and not all the pieces featured in my YouTube tutorials, which number over 100.

I do not create a sheet music version for each tutorial: I have prepared only the pieces I deemed suitable for a complete piano transcription, entrusting them to a professional transcriber.

The available sheet music is:

  • complete piano arrangements, with harmonic development in the left hand and integrated melody in the right hand

  • sometimes with English chord markings, and in line with the performance style of my reference piano tutorial video.                                              Therefore, these are not simplified sheet music with just the melody line and chords, nor can they be converted into simplified versions. Due to different targets, I am not accepting requests for new custom arrangements or additional sheet music for pieces not in the catalog.
